The Business Challenge

With a glut of upscale salons in the Los Angeles area, the stylists at Jazyhair needed to do something special to stand out from the competition. The salon was known for its dedication to client satisfaction. Yet, it was getting buried under $125K of debt.

Although the struggling salon had excellent stylists, the business was being severely limited by its less-than-posh interior. The customer waiting area was uninspiring; the stylist portfolios were unwieldy to review; and even the checkout experience felt incredibly clunky. To attract an exclusive clientele, the salon needed to get brought into this century — and fast.

The Custom Solution from Dell and Intel

Dell and Intel helped Jazyhair add a competitive edge to their client services. Their point-of-sale (POS) solution was upgraded to a Dell™ Vostro™ desktop, based on Intel^® Core™2 Quad Technology, for faster booking and transactions. It connected to their cash box, scanner and printer, as well as a Dell PowerVault™ RD1000 storage solution for data protection.

To improve the styling experience, clients could now use Dell Vostro laptops with Intel^® Centrino^® Mobile Technology to go online from stylist stations. The waiting area featured a 27" digital display, powered by Dell OptiPlex™ technology, for reviewing the salon portfolio and other hairstyles. A second display was also mounted in the shampoo area.
