The Business Challenge

Based in Los Angeles, Wagville offered a wide range of services for pampered pets — everything from doggie daycare, grooming and training to holistic massages and field trips. However, the small business had reached a plateau in its growth.

Although the facility was fully staffed with excellent employees, the single owner was tied to being on-site to run the business. Plus, she had little spare time to attract new customers. The check-in process was frustratingly slow, the lobby was outdated and the store had yet to provide the latest in pet care — remote webcams. While her passion for pups was overflowing, it seemed like the entrepreneur might have reached a dead end.

The Custom Solution from Dell and Intel

With the help of Dell and Intel, Wagville was able to add high-impact features for unbeatable service. The check-in process became a fast, self-serve experience with two customized touch screen kiosks running the latest kennel software. These new point-of-sale (POS) systems, driven by Dell™ OptiPlex™ technology, also improved credit card processing.

The store’s existing Dell PowerEdge™ server, featuring Intel^® Core™2 Duo Technology, made it easy to integrate legacy systems, webcams and new hardware. In the lobby, visitors could view highlights of services on two digital displays. Plus, the owner received a Dell Latitude™ laptop with Intel^® Centrino^® Mobile Technology for managing the business from home — and developing exciting ideas for the future.
